• Praksis is a refereed quarterly journal of social sciences in Turkish. The name of the journal is
taken from the Turkish pronunciation of the concept "praxis". Published since 2000, the journal
aims to defend historical materialism in social sciences.

  • Praksis does not adhere to any particular school within historical materialism. It embraces the
historical materialist tradition as a whole.

  • Praksis is open to theoretical articles, empirical studies and book reviews from all disciplines of
social sciences. Among the most discussed topics are classes, contemporary Marxist currents,
intellectuals, Turkish politics, international developments, etc.

  • Full English translations of the articles in Praksis are not available. However, the table of
contents of each issue as well as the English abstracts of all articles can be reached by clicking
